Police Arrest Cobb Man for Child Molestation at a Local Bookstore

KENNESAW, GA -- A 60-year-old Powder Springs man is out on bond after allegedly pleasuring himself in the children's section of a local Barnes and Noble.

It happened at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at the bookstore on 50 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw.

Witnesses told Cobb County Police that they saw the suspect sitting in the kids' section, masturbating in front of several girls.

One witness was able to take down the man's license plate number when he drove off in what appeared to be a white Ford Mustang.

Gary Wayne Garvin has been charged with public indecency and child molestation. He was released from Cobb County Adult Detention Center on a $40,000 bond.

Police are asking anyone who was as the Barnes and Noble at the time of the incident to call investigators at (770) 801-3470.
